Omar Hassan: 30 Years and Still Grinding
When Omar Hassan turned pro for Blockhead, boards were still fishtail shape. Not fishtail shape in a retro cool way like Welcome or Heroin are selling, fishtail shape because popsicle boards and double kicks were yet to be invented. Why do we mention this? Because Omar Hassan has been pro longer than the old dudes in your local scene have been alive, yet he's still on an absolute tear. Only last week he had enders in Volcom's 'Barci Bash' video!
To celebrate 30 years on the most famous truck brand in the game, Indy have released this must-watch documentary, covering everything from Omar's early days to the horrific scalping he took at the Vans Downtown Showdown back in 2007 (quite possibly the grimmest injury we've ever had the misfortune to witness).
In all honesty there's not much we can say about this to sell it to you; we can't do Omar's career justice in three short paragraphs. We can implore you to watch it though, not only to learn about one of the shining lights of our scene but also to enjoy three decades of his all-terrain ripping. Plus you get to see the greatest mic drop of all time, that alone is worth the 22 minute commitment!
