Name: Chris Hall / MC ID What do you do: MC/front man for Sub Focus, Ram Records and many more. I’m also artist manager at Identifiable Management representing artists Capsun and Klax. How long have you been shopping at R1 Brighton: 11 years now. It’s always had a great community feeling and they’re really accommodating. They’ll always order you in a size or style if they don’t have it in stock at the shop … I like that. Favourite brands at R1? Nike, Vans, Kr3w, Diamond, Brixton What’s the best thing about Brighton: I really hold dear what a melting pot of different people call Brighton ‘home’. So many creative people have made the city really shine and it has a freedom of expression like I’ve never seen. How long have you been shopping at R1 Southampton: Since I became interested in skating, which was around 10yrs old. Name: Joe Marriner What do you do: I play guitar in the band Decade How long have you been shopping at R1 Bath: Since I was about 11, I remember stopping in most days on the way home from school! Favourite brands at R1: Vans, Nike SB and Element What’s the best thing about Bath: I love coming back to Bath after a tour; it’s definitely one of the nicer cities to look at in the UK. It’s also got a fair bit going on for a small city, I feel very lucky to have grown up here. Plans for 2015: We’re planning to record our second album, tour as much as possible and hopefully play a lot of major festivals, should be a fun one! Name: James Frederick Pope What do you do: I sing in Bristol pop punk band Tuskens, work for Virgin Media and skate as often as I can. How long have you been shopping at R1 Bristol: I’ve been coming to R1 Bristol since it opened, but I’ve been shopping at R1 for years. Favourite brands at R1: I’m a massive fan of Vans and KR3W, that’s what I look out for but the R1 own brand selection is awesome, really good quality for a good price. What’s the best thing about Bristol: Got to be the music scene and skate community. Everyone’s really approachable; it’s a real chilled city full of awesome people. Plans for 2015: I’ve got a lot coming up with my band Tuskens, we have loads of shows booked up and down the UK and we’re currently midway through writing our third EP which we hope to release by summer. What’s the best thing about Edinburgh: Saughton Skatepark… Ticks all the boxes – the ‘sesh is always on! Plans for 2015: Skate more, go to Prague and generally get more involved in the s**t I love.
