The 1010 arrived as Tiago's inaugural pro model shoe for the Numeric brand, riding the wave of nostalgia-driven footwear with the advantage of a fresh perspective and innovative technology.
Despite lacking a back catalogue of skate shoes from the period they were seeking to reference, New Balance had a wealth of footwear inspiration in other fields they could pull from. They already possessed the necessary tools to emulate the look and feel of a super techy '90s skate shoe, thanks to their developments in running, training, and other sports.
The 1010 personifies Tiago's '90s-infused style and offers an avenue amongst the Numeric range for those seeking a thicker cupsole model, whilst staying true to the rest of New Balance's catalogue.

The shoe features a complex upper of exceptional quality, fusing suede, leather, and mesh to offer an athletic-inspired look made distinctive by its deliberate lack of straight lines. Its ergonomic panelling allows for plenty of poise and control with targeted flex points, and the articulated Ndurance outsole offers lasting grip. Reinforcements at the toe cap and selective triple stitching emphasise durability.
The 1010's cupsole construction is aided by dual-density FuelCell foam embedded in the midsole and a molded Ortholite insole to provide cushioning and impact protection. The comfort continues throughout the collar, with anatomical heel pods and FantomFit heel harnessing for stabilisation and support with padded softness.
