As the most liked comment in the YouTube descriptions says "I used to think Atlantic Drift was the best series, until I watched Jante."
Not that there's anything lacking in Jacob Harris' skate video serialisation; his productions are, after all, undeniably some of the most important audio-visual creations of the modern era. And it's not as if the Tom Knox, Casper Brooker and Mike Arnold centric crew are short on skill - those boys produce some of the most aesthetically pleasing progressive skateboarding in the world today. But that's the point; Atlantic Drift is utterly wonderful and yet Jante is perhaps even more enjoyable.
Fritte Söderström, the genius behind the series, keeps things deceptively simple; the edits appear a lot less curated than Harris' work, but that belies the brilliance within. The filming is spectacular, something we can all agree on, and the Sour centric talent on display somehow trumps that of even Tom, Casper and the boys. Or maybe we're just overthinking it and simply man crushing on Gustav Tønnesen again. Truth be told, that's very likely indeed!
