Bio

We are thrilled to welcome to our Southampton team a real master of transition, Jack Wallbridge. He may only be young, but he skates with the intelligence and intensity of someone with years of experience. Our newest member of our tight-knit Southampton crew, Jack can usually be found boosting high above coping, flying round bowls and crushing it in comps.

About

STANCE: Regular

GO-TO TRICK: Probably a standup Fs grind or maybe a maddona

DREAM TRICK: Kickflip andrecht. Would love to properly stall an invert too.

WHO INFLUENCES YOU MOST IN SKATEBOARDING: So many good skaters out there! I’ve always been a fan of Willis Kimbel’s style and trick selection. I’m a vert geek so Jim Langran, Paul-Luc Ronchetti, Reiss Johnson, Jesse Thomas, Dave Allen, Sean Goff and Andy Scott are definitely up there as some of my favourite UK vert guys. More locally, Greg Nowik and Jed Cullen my hometown heroes who have influenced me more than most! I would go on but it’s a very long list

FAVOURITE ROUTE ONE PRODUCT: I’ve been enjoying the super baggy denim shorts.

FAVOURITE ROUTE ONE SKATER: I’d have to go for Sam Beckett. He’s done a lot of good for UK Vert skating and has such a powerful flowing style. He’s put out some amazing parts too!

IF YOU HAD A PRO GRAPHIC, WHAT WOULD BE ON IT: Haha, tough question. Greg (Nowik) would probably say that it would be a brick cause you can make walls and bridges out of bricks.

BEST EVER SKATE MISSION: Mans-E-Rama in Tampere, Finland last year was epic! We had the nicest accommodation in a classic e lakeside summerhouse and 23 hours of light each day to go kayaking and exploring lots of rad DIY parks with skaters from across the world. The vert comp on the Saturday was good fun too.

WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU'RE NOT SKATING: Think about skating, watch skating, write magazines about skating, design magazines about skating, sit on a train to go skating, fix my bicycle so I can go skating and loads of other geeky things.

WHAT MUSICC ARE YOU LISTENING TO RIGHT NOW/LAST SONG PLAYED: My music tastes are pretty generic for a vert skater to be honest. I think I was last listening to The Black Angels, a psychedelic rock band. A few of their songs featured in Grosso’s loveletters to skating.

ANYTHING COMING UP IN THE FUTURE (SKATING OR NOT SKATING) THAT YOU ARE PARTICUARLY LOOKING FORWARD TO: Firstly would be the release of Issue 8 of Vertical magazine which is a magazine I make about vert skating. Hopefully I’ll be able to get it out in March. Next would be Tampa Pro Vert in April and Vert Attack in Malmo, Sweden the week after. With Halfpipe Hero the week before in the Scottish Highlands, it’s gonna be a hectic three weeks of trips!
