This year saw a big change in the annual snowboarding event and music festival that comes to London. Usually taking place at the Battersea Power Station, this year moved to Clapham Common and with a ‘Hail The Rail’ street rail comp in place of the big air. Hail The Rail consisted of an all British ‘Battle Of Britain’ comp and an international comp with some of the best rail riders in the world coming over to try and get their hands on the £3000 cash prize.
Once again we had our R1 snow team out in full force with Cody Hierons, Rowan Biddiscombe and Will Radula-Scott all competing in the Battle Of Britain rail comp and our very own Si Belson shaping the set up making sure it’s perfect to ride all day long. The standard was higher than ever and the crowd was electric! Rowan managed to bag himself a spot prize of £100 for a one-foot fastplant over the close-out rail and Cody laid down a bag full of tricks to see him through to the final. In the end he didn’t quite make the podium but they all loved the rail set up and finished the night catching some of the live music with some beers.
