Making a name for himself significantly later than most of his peers, Penguin Tasmania native Gabriel Summers exploded into the collective public consciousness with his now legendary end section in Zero Skateboards 2019 release 'Damn it All.' Earning himself a couple of My War's and Hall of Meat's along the way, Antipodean burler Gabbers found a way into our hearts with a never-say-die attitude and the ability to (sometimes) roll away from the most unfathomably gnarly handrails.
When we heard he was in the UK with adidas for their summer residency at Factory International in Manchester, we knew couldn't pass on the opportunity to meet up with one of our all-time favourites. So, we made a few calls, pulled a few favours and managed to squeeze in half an hour in the great man's company. The sun was even shining too, and if you know Manchester you'll know that means the skate gods are really on Gabbers' side!
Discussing everything from his time with adidas to convincing Zero head honcho Jamie Thomas that Dido was legitimate music for a skate video, Gabriel Summers does not hold back!
Stay tuned for more from adidas over the next couple of weeks...
