Introducing Vans’ latest addition to their stacked silhouette roster, the Old Skool 36+. An homage to the iconic Style 36, the first iteration of the Old Skool™, the 36+ blends timeless design with contemporary skateboard tech. Rooted in Vans’ heritage, the OG Style 36 was designed in 1977; a silhouette by skaters, for skaters. Just the second skate shoe ever created by Vans, the Style 36 was the first to feature the Sidestripe, cementing it in skateboarding history.
Fast-forward to 2025, the OG’s rebellious spirit is redefined with modern performance upgrades in the Old Skool 36+. A nod to the mid-90s, the golden era of street skating, with a shorter toe box, wider throat and larger tongue. Black suede blends with navy canvas under panelling on the upper of the shoe, sitting atop a white and gum vulcanised sole. Additional heel and tongue pull tabs add to the 90s aesthetic whilst providing an easy on/easy off design.
But the details don’t stop there. The shoe is designed with increased durability, grip, and impact protection: locked-in tongue straps provide a secure fit, the suede ollie patch is backed by DURACAP™ tech, and additional foam in the tongue and heel collar gives added comfort and functionality.
Moving underfoot, the Sickstick™ rubber increases the outsoles durability and grip, and the shoe is rounded off with PopCush™ insoles for impact protection and a refined single foxing sidewall for an elevated look.
