Back in 2000, Transworld Skateboard Magazine released 'Modus Operandi;' to this day regarded as one of the best videos of all time. The Ty Evans production was chock full of the era's peak skateboarding talent but, about two thirds of the way through, Mike Carroll made history, opening his part with arguably the greatest line ever committed to film. Such was the perfection captured, it would take the most hubristic of souls to think they could step up to the SF Public Library and follow in his footsteps.
Thankfully Nile Gibbs is a man in possession of the requisite talent to justify such hubris and his opening line at the very same legendary spot, 24 years after Mike Carroll shut it down, is every bit as exceptional and serves as the perfect opener to his amazing new part!
Produced by those GX1000 boys and released through Thrasher, this is the raw power of SF in audio-visual form. From the opening line to the hill bomb ender, the Seattle native shows his adoptive home who's the boss. Click play to get the message below!
