One Week of CPH Open
Dec 2020

For over a decade we've lived in the era of immediate content. Journey back in time ten years and even UK events in small provincial towns were filmed, edited and uploaded (often by our good selves as our YouTube back catalogue will testify!) within hours of their completion. Which is what makes the timing of this CPH 2019 highlights package such an anomaly.
Now the quality is not in question. Whether offering a voyerist's view into Steve Olson's Danish railway obsession or showcasing the opinions and skills of our own Amy Ram and Helena Long, this is a beautifully shot insight into the annual skate pilgrimage thousands make to the Danish capital. In fact, the care and diligence taken in making this, interviewing everyone from Copenhagen Mayor of Culture and Leisure Francisca Rosenkilde to your favourite antipodean p*ss head Dustin Dollin, is commendable and it really is a fantastically enjoyable piece that evokes the spirit of the occasion. What's surprising though is it took 18 months to be released!
Not that we're complaining. In a year that has seen every major sporting event cancelled or postponed it's nice to remember that eventually the good times will return and there are things worth looking forward to. In fact, given the itch we have for travel right now it's safe to say this was all the motivation we needed to book ourselves on the Ferry over to Denmark for June 2021!
