Currently, only 3% of charitable giving goes to the environment. That’s a minuscule amount for the immense task of ensuring our planet and future generations can thrive. It’s clear our earth needs and deserves a lot more, which is why two friends, Yvon Chouinard, founder of Patagonia, and Craig Mathews, founder of Blue Ribbon Flies, set up 1% for the Planet back in 2002. Since then, the 1% for the Planet movement has grown and inspired thousands of businesses and individuals to support a network of over 7000 approved environmental non-profits, amounting to a massive $672 million donated for the planet so far.
From now on, for every Route One collection product you buy online or in our stores, we will give 1% of the sale to organisations tackling the world’s most pressing environmental issues. Look out for the 1% for the Planet logo on every Route One O.B product, including of course our jeans, shorts, t-shirts, accessories and skateboards.
