JIT - WKND SKATEBOARDS
Skateboarding often takes itself too seriously and WKND is taking it back, video by video.
JIT, the acronymic alternative title to Juveniles In Training, is the latest from the WKND Skateboards crew: an inspired coming-of-age flick featuring the board brands' amateur outfit alongside a mix of heavy and hilarious cameos (wait, was that JeffWonSong?).
Although stuffed with diverse street slaying from hungry ams Guy Azulay, Zac Gracie, Toby Bennett, Shintaro Hongo, Riley Pavey, Tanner Burzinski, and Nikolai Piombo, Grant Yansura's inspired sketches take the cake - a welcome break between exhaustingly exciting skating, serotonin-inducing skits straight from the Jared Hess school of offbeat comedy.
WKND's place in the industry is best summed up by their "Guy" sketch - the lovable underdogs who aren't afraid to poke a little fun at themselves and the novelty of skateboarding culture. With more and more brands with artsy aesthetics cropping up WKND present a refreshing respite, digging out their own light-hearted avenue.
