Let's talk trousers. Trousers, much like Ron Burgundy, are kind of a big deal. When they're right not only can they make a part, they'll set off a trend that will last years; think Silas' brown chords in Inhabitants or Dylan's turn-ups for Gravis. Get it wrong though and not only do they distract from the art but they set the message boards alight in disdain (Nyjah and Dill both know exactly what we're talking about!) and random folk will still be referencing their sartorial missteps many years later. Ahem.
At first glance Joseph Campos isn't a man prepared to brave an extreme trouser. His pant game is strong, no doubt, but is it comparable to Simon Evans' infamous mustard pantaloons? Hardly. However, he does have an ankle sag we haven't seen prevalent for a very long time and as the FA/Hockey house is often ahead of the game on matters sartorial, can we see this subtle style tweak becoming the big thing in skateboarding leg wear? Only time will tell.
The bottom line is that the lad rips and not all trend changes are massive leaps. Denim ruffled ankles, big in 2025? Who knows!
