adidas Skateboarding Presents Nikolai Piombo XP
When we first sat down with Nikolai at this summer's adidas BUILD event in Manchester, it was immediately clear he's the kind of lad who likes to let his skateboarding do the talking. A rather large left-handed cigarette later and he was waxing lyrical with the best of 'em, but this is a man who puts on his headphones, turns up his beats and sinks into his own little super tech world, doing unfathomable tricks with unparalleled beauty.
During the course of the interview he referenced this, his brand new part (and you can see a number of the UK based hammers he mentions, scattered throughout), but even having spent time in his company, nothing could prepare us for the all out assault to the senses 'XP' provides.
Containing quite possibly the greatest ever backside 180 fakie 5.0, a switch NAC (watch Street Dreams if that reference goes over your head) and more Busenitz than Dennis' family reunion, WKND's Nikolai produces a genuine career highlight with what is one of the most technically impressive video parts we've seen in years.
