Skate Update: Yesterday, Tomorrow and Today

Skate Update: Yesterday, Tomorrow and Today
Skate Update: Yesterday, Tomorrow and Today
May 2026 by Alex Winstanley

Danny Brady For Nothing (Reprise)

In an era of constant content, it’s so easy to become hyper-fixated on chasing the next thing; Lord knows we’re desensitised by the endless stream of amazing footage on YouTube and Insta. When parts that would’ve won SOTY a decade ago are dropping three times a week - before some Japanese kid does something you’d have struggled to put together on EA Skate - the idea of appreciating what came before can easily slip our minds.

That’s why it’s important that sites like Quartersnacks continue to celebrate those who deserve to be remembered, like Blackpool’s finest, Danny Brady. And that doesn’t necessarily mean revisiting their most famous footage (although we are definitely watching Lost and Found as soon as we get in tonight!).

Inviting us to revisit five minutes of prime late-career Brady footage - pulled from three Vans x Quartersnacks trips across 2019, 2022 and 2023 - this is a thoroughly enjoyable journey into the vaults. It also serves as a reminder that, while progression is undoubtedly great, skateboarding has a long and storied history, and much of it remains every bit as valuable now as it ever was.

Magenta Skateboards HEADQUARTERS Full Video

You’ve got to hand it to Soy, Vivien and the team at Magenta - they know what they like, they know how they want to present themselves, and their commitment to an authentic vision of skateboarding keeps the brand one of the most vital proponents of the culture today. Viva Magenta!

New video Headquarters was originally released online in three parts throughout April, but has now been uploaded in full - so we figured there’s no better time than now to give it its due and share it with you.

With a cast of talent stretching from Bordeaux’s Leo Valls to Rio’s Sergio Santoro, this is as harmonious a collection of soulful skateboarding as has ever been captured on VX - and yes, it’s still all VX. It’s creative, heartfelt skateboarding made for love rather than money, and it feels every bit as fresh and engaging as the brand’s output at its inception sixteen years ago. Enjoy.

Behind Foundation’s New Video Today Tomorrow Forever | Timeline

A full-length from one of skateboarding’s most storied brands is enough to get any skater excited. When it’s a Foundation video, though, the hype goes up another notch.

After two years of filming (yep, they’ve done it properly), the company that brought you Tentacles of Destruction, Barbarians at the Gate, That’s Life and Cataclysmic Abyss is back with its latest offering — and word is, we’re all in for a real treat.

Sadly, the full-length itself isn’t quite ready for our collective delectation, but The PLATFRM have literally just dropped Behind Foundation’s New Video Today Tomorrow Forever, and it does exactly what it says on the tin: offering a behind-the-scenes glimpse at a few scenes in the making, alongside the thoughts (and feelings) of the entire squad.

It certainly brings the hype!
