We’ve been selling boards for over 30 years and in that time, we’ve helped thousands of people enter the world of skateboarding.
Skateboarding has amazing potential - to improve physical and mental well-being; develop personal resilience; stimulate creativity; and most importantly, bring people together.

From the teams in our stores, helping first-timers to set up their new boards, to the support and encouragement we give our Team Riders, through to the free events we run around the UK, we are committed to building local skate communities.

Skate Events

Hopefully you've been able to attend one of the Free Skate Events we've run over the years.
Ramp Antics brings a portable Skate Park to places that need a permanent one. It encourages people to learn to skate for the very first time with Free lessons and equipment and then lets seasoned skaters rip and win the prizes our sponsors donate to each event (thanks to Nike SB, Rock Solid, Shiner, Workshop, and Keen).

One of the by-products of these events is that local councils see the real demand out there for permanent parks to serve their local community.

Go Skate Day is celebrated around the world. At Route One, it’s a day when we close our doors early and go skating with our friends.

Skate Skills

We want people to skate - and the more the better - so we’ve developed a Skate Skills Tutorial Programme to help more people learn to skate. The Programme takes you through the very basics, all the way to landing your first trick. A BIG thanks to our Pro Team Riders for sharing their knowledge and time to help others get into the sport they love.

Diversity and Inclusion

We are committed to fostering inclusivity in our workplace, on the street, and in the parks. Skateboarding must be inclusive in every sense and for that to happen our skateparks must encourage all to participate, regardless of age, gender, race, or background.
We need more safe spaces where skaters of all skill levels and backgrounds can come together, learn, and have fun. We need to be seen to be encouraging everyone to skate.
We are continuously working towards a more inclusive future for skateboarding, where everyone feels empowered to create and belong.

Make Life Skate Life

There are so many positive benefits to skateboarding.

Importantly skateparks help to foster active, inclusive, healthier, and happier societies, and provide local skaters with invaluable education and employment opportunities.

MLSL builds skateparks in some of the poorest parts of the world and seeks to bring these positive benefits to underprivileged communities, so, we're proud to have supported MSLS over the years and to have played a small part in making their new parks happen.

Our donations have helped fund a Make Life Skate Life project in Loas. In addition, we've provided skateboards, protection gear, and even skate lessons to keep the locals rolling once the park is up and running.

In February 2023 we sent our Pro Team to Vientiane, Laos to join in on the opening session of the city’s first public skatepark, built by the Make Life Skate Life team. Their trip was unforgettable and allowed them to skate with locals, meet the builders, offer Free Lessons, and personally distribute the gear.
